30 days, 30 tunes - Days 7-9: Being unproductive

May 10th, 2009

Days 7-9 were pretty unproductive for me. The tracks for days 7-8 are on my 8bc profile if you really want to listen to them. I recommend you stick to the following track, which is for day 9. It’s a pretty straightforward happy track.

30 days, 30 tunes - Day 6: Amens are all the rage

May 7th, 2009

Today I’m letting out some rage, gabber/breakcore style. For the mashing of this amen I’ve re-used some of the techniques from day 3.

30 days, 30 tunes - Day 4: Fake Vader Dub + Day 3: Grainbrain

May 5th, 2009

Another unfinished track, but damn so good. Yeah, I’m pleased with how this came out. Pretty massive. This is a dubby tune loosely based on the Imperial March main melody. (Yes, one note is wrong, and that’s the way I want it. It’s not meant to be a cover of the march.)

For day 3 I posted the first part of what will become my 72h challenge submission. It’s some crazy glitchy break cutting/granular synthesis using only the Gameboy’s wave channel in LSDj’s kit mode.

30 days, 30 tunes - Day 2: Summer Love

May 3rd, 2009

It’s a bit unfinished, especially the beat and the drums which repeat through out the song without hange, but I’m pretty happy with it.

30 days, 30 tunes - Day 1

May 1st, 2009

So, I boldly joined this challenge to write 30 songs in 30 days.

The idea of it is that in a timeframe of 30 days you are to write 30 songs. These songs can be a 10 second long melody and bassline or an epic, melodic 15 minute long piece.

There is little chance of actually completing 30 masterpieces, but that isn’t the point. The point is to push your boundaries of what you would normally do.

I’m writing a small DB app which will soon be available where participants can submit their tracks which are then displayed in a table with each person’s name as the row and the days as columns. Until that’s done, I’ll make a post everyday here on my blog with links to all tracks for that day.

calmdownkidder - Erm, short but… short
the ant boy - Nice acidish tune made with ProTrekkr.
