30 days, 30 tunes - Day 4: Fake Vader Dub + Day 3: Grainbrain
May 5th, 2009Another unfinished track, but damn so good. Yeah, I’m pleased with how this came out. Pretty massive. This is a dubby tune loosely based on the Imperial March main melody. (Yes, one note is wrong, and that’s the way I want it. It’s not meant to be a cover of the march.)

For day 3 I posted the first part of what will become my 72h challenge submission. It’s some crazy glitchy break cutting/granular synthesis using only the Gameboy’s wave channel in LSDj’s kit mode.

I still think the brilliance of this ditty is being wasted by ripping off John Williams. The bass “formant” slurs are too good to be just part of a Star Wars wannabe tune. But that could be just my lack of interest for all things Star Wars related
